Being originally from the Washington, DC metro area, I moved to Raleigh to soldify myself, and my budding development career in one of the country's fastest growing tech hubs. Recently, I completed an twenty-four month, high-level coding fellowship, Lambda School; a Silicon Valley based coding education startup. My time at Lambda school was intensive as we worked to master the full stack of web development technologies. Currently, I am enrolled in the University of Maryland Global Campus, pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in order to round out my technical education.
I possess a solid grasp of the modern Software Development Life Cycle, including concepts such as Agile Development, Automated Testing, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development. I am eager to learn new systems and languages as the tech industry and development environment requires the ability to change and adapt very quickly. As a developer, I am flexible and excited to take on new roles as oftentimes, especially on smaller teams, everyone can fill multiple roles. Front End Development is building out the visual structure and behavior of the DOM elements that the user interacts with. Using just basic HTML, a CSS preprocessor or two, and vanilla Javascript logic, I am able to build stable, clean and visually appealing static websites. Utilizing front end frameworks such as React, I can transform static sites into dynamic web applications that can "react" to user input and data, as well as be responsive adapting to multiple screen sizes and display options. Including these tools into your web infrastructure not only provides for a better user experience for your clients, but it gives your business the tools to collect and manage user data to better serve your clientele.
In today's world, data drives business. If your user data is unorganized or you only have limited access to your business's data you are handicapping your success. Successful businesses make it easy for users to submit data, and possess efficient means to access users' data. That's where I come in. By using tools like SQL, GraphQL and MongoDB I can create, update, and maintain dynamic databases to house expansive amounts of user generated data. I am also able to utilize tools like Node.js and Express to program application programming interfaces (API's) in order to communicate with various front end tools and display database or server data inside web browsers.
I pride myself in being comfortable working in Github-based, CI/CD environments as I put a high priority on producing excellent, self- documenting code, as well as clear and descriptive commits and version history. I also have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment prioritizing multiple concurrent tasks across several systems. To complete my skill set, I have over eight years of experience providing exceptional service and dynamic problem resolution for customers both in person and over the phone, as well as coordinating and managing relationships with vendors and support staff. I consider my work very thorough with close attention paid to details and minutiae. I have proven the ability to thrive in a diverse array of fast paced environments by developing detailed organizational skills and exhibiting advanced multitasking and task prioritization abilities.
